This is the tale of an alchemist who made a special deal in exchange for power...

By using the law of equivalent exchange he is able to receive energy from the universe by sacrificing himself

(Made in 3 days as a submission for the Wowie Game Jam 2021, all art, music, and code were made from scratch during the game jam period. working solo)

(there might be a bug on the start of the second level where the player doesn't move, please try restarting the level (with the R key) until he can move)

My only complaint is how loud the text sound is. I have to take my headphones off when I see the dialogue box. Otherwise I really liked it.

Thank you :D About the text I've already received some negative feedback on it so my bad, I'm sorry for having spoiled the experience. Maybe I'll release an update where I'll fix most of the things that caused complaints so it's really useful for me to collect feedback like this, thank you again :)

Nono, thank you for giving me a fun experience to play. Can’t wait to see it down the road!

I think that the game is very low quality. I've seen games made in 24 hours that were multitudes of times better than this. The story is poorly executed, as you don't really know what "What are you willing to give up?" actually means. The last level is kind of confusing because you go from touching a gem to seeing a 50-foot giant on your screen. The desc. says you made a deal for power, but it is kinda unclear what the deal was. Assuming the deal was being able to double jump using a soul, what did the character exchange to get that power? No hate, just think the game is unclear and jumps around a lot.

I'm sorry you disliked my game. Please understand that it was made by a beginner for a game jam, so most of the negative things are mostly due to lack of time and/or experience on my side. About the "plot", i actually had much more detailed dialogue written, but I found it a bit too lengthy and boring but instead of adding a skip button or something my dumb ass decided to just remove more than half of it -_-. If I ever revisit this I'll fix everything that caused negative feedback. Thank you for your honest comment :) it helps a lot actually

those spike jumps are too tight, and the game runs poorly on my chromebook.

I'm sorry to hear that. The fact that the levels have no boundaries is one of the biggest complains I got for my game, and it's my bad for having missed that. About the performance I think it's the fact that I accidentally exported as a debug build and some people noticed and commented that it can make the performance worse. If I ever revisit this project I'll update it by fixing everything that has been criticized about it, so thank you a lot for your feedback :D

looking forward to it :>

i walked off the right edge during the intro cutscene and now im stuck haha
